    Overflow Design Recommendation

That sounds about right - for some reason I had a brain fart and was not thinking about the return from the opposite side from the return.

    Overflow Design Recommendation

Thanks Mark - on my peninsula, I seem to remember that getting water to move from the far end without a gyre or something similar was troublesome, so I thought a double flow would address flow issues better. Any good reasons not to double it?

    Overflow Design Recommendation

Hey all - Looking to start a new project which will be an in wall with both main sides viewable. I am looking for some advice on the placement of overflows - particularly one sided vs. two. The tank will be a 280g - 72 x 30 x 24 (high). Any other comments are welcome! Shawn

    Cleaning Bubble Algae Infested Rock

Excellent info. I did not realize Fox Face were bubble algae destroyers. I will look to them as well for my next adventure. The 50 / 50 mix sounds like a good approach this time around.

    Cleaning Bubble Algae Infested Rock

I think I would try that if I was not going to be taking the rock out of the tank anyways. It looks like it is a several week process and I need to get the tank broken down and re-assembled within a week or two - and there is just no way I could bear to put the rock back into the tank...

    Cleaning Bubble Algae Infested Rock

I have to take down a 180g tank for some repair. The tank is infested with bubble algae, however the rock is mature (5 years). I am sure I know the answer, but is a re-cure / acid bath the only sure fire way to make sure the bubble algae is gone or would a good brush scrubbing be sufficient...

    Lymphocystis on Copperband

Hi - I recently got a handful of fish and started TTM. After the second transfer, I noticed the white specs (about 3 of them) on the tail of the Copperband. Everyone is acting very happy and eating like pigs. My question is, should I continue to quarantine all of the fish until all symptoms...

using the Neptune DOS to do automatic water changes

I prefer leaving it cold - it helps to balance out the temps of the lights and when they are not on, it does not affect dramatically since it is a small amount spread out over time...

    STN after coral electocution

Well, the visual condition of the water was pretty bad with a silt from the dying tissue covering everything. Not sure how the water swap could have contributed as I did that after the damage had progressed considerably. Anyways, with no other feedback, I cut all of the stalks above the tissue...
