I have Caulerpa Verticillata on my new 20lbs of rock from Gulf Live Rock. Introduced into tank one week ago to start cycle. Just found out what it is and don't want it. Should I just do a full RO and Peroxide dip for 20 mins to kill it all (Including everything else). I don't want this in the tank and am willing to just get more rock if needed I'm just starting and already have a nuisance algae problem. What do you Suggest? Oh by the way I live in Clovis NM.
This is very common with new fish that may not have been quarantined but I know you needed a clean up crew member that was reliable...and he does do good work doesnt he...truly I would have to just search ich threads here and after reading several would run the method most up to date. I'm not much of a fish guy more so a micro ecosystem nerd
Hey Brandon I got a yellow tang to help clean up the Caulerpa spots that keep coming back here and there after direct treatment. He loves the stuff ate all that could be seen int he tank in two days.... I checked on the tang for three days in the store pre-purchase to insure no signs of disease. Now three days later little spots on his fins.Looks like ich ugh. what now? Any threads t help?
Okay thanks I will get a shot of the tank as soon as I can. I'm thinking of just nuking the rock as to eradicate it totally I really don't want this stuff inside. Ill order better rock next time without the macro algae. By taking care of the rock will that do the trick or will it still be silently floating around inside?
