    Tomini / Cthenochaetus genus Tangs.

I've had one for 8 years. It has survived three tank changes from a 55 gallon to a 180. It's been happy everywhere. Never a problem. Gets along with everyone including currently an aggressive powder blue tang, a personifer angel, a watanabe angel, and a host of others. The only aggression I've...

raising tank alkalinity with calcium eactor

Thanks, I'll try that next. I too am afraid that the 6.1 cutoff will melt the media.

Can I kill a Rock Flower Anemone?

Funny, I recently paid 35$ a piece for 4 four rock flower anemones at a recent reefstock here in Denver. These are quite pretty. I wouldn't mind if they multiplies to cover much of the substrate. You could probably thin them out with some Calcium Hydroxide paste applied generously

raising tank alkalinity with calcium eactor

Thanks for the responses. I did check the output and the DKh was above the limit of the Hanna checker at least at 16.8. I do supplement Mg as I have all along and that stays about 1400. I lowered the pH cutoff to 6.1 and increased the CO2 as well as increasing the flow . I will see what that...

raising tank alkalinity with calcium eactor

I have a heavily grown out 180 gallon tank with a 60 gallon sump. The corals are predominantly SPS/ acropora with large brain and hammer corals on the bottom. My problem is the calcium and alkalinity demands result in trouble maintaining a dkh above seven. I have an MRC c-1 reactor with a...

    9011 drive unit/impeller

Thanks for getting my last order for the 6025 and 9011 impellers out to me. I received an impeller for the 9011 part number 0235.120 A, when I needed the complete drive unit including the magnet which is starting to expand due to its age. According to the original manual for the 9011 protein...

    part 9010.200

Thanks for your response. Over the years the plate has become malleable so that significant water leaks from the bottom plate as it bears the weight of the water column in the skimmer even as the plate is fully locked in position. If you would be so kind as to order that part using the same...

    part 9010.200

Hi Roger Yesterday I ordered an impeller for an old 9011 skimmer, as well as a new impeller for a 6025 turbelle. Today I tried to order part # 9010.200 for the same 9011 skimmer but the website keeps bringing me back to my cart from yesterday and not recognizing a new order. The current cover is...

    parts for old 6095 nanostream

Hi Roger, I need a drive unit for a 2013 6095 turbelle nanostream pump, and a bushing and attenuation disc for the same pump. I'm assuming that the pump hasn't changed since 2013. The part numbers according to the website are 6095.700 and 6055.740. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Please let me...

    Clams die without water change

that was necrotic tissue. Part of the dead clam

Sudden poisoning of tank. Inverts dead. Need suggestions.

A heavy metal chance contaminant would likely cause a slow degradation in the tank as opposed to a sudden massive die off, this would include a small mass copper contaminant. A bacterial bloom causing hypoxia would leave its telltale cloudy water and slimy residue, as well as killing the more...
