  • Hi,

I am currently working on assembling the typhoon controller. After I connected every component, I cannot change the RTC time. Once I reach the menu to set the Hrs and Min, I cannot do anything. When I press, "+" or "-", the Hrs or Min does not change.

What should I do now. How do I troubleshoot the issue?

I am using the RTC board which has the CR32 battery for backup.

    Regards'

    Shelly
are you or anyone you know using the boost led typhoon controller i could use some help with it if you do know anyone
    Hey DWZM

Found your schematic and board for the voltage regulator, totally awesome btw. I have a question though and it's going to sound stupid but hear me out:

Where do you connect the negative for the 10v source? I can see right down the bottom of the board, there's a Vin pin, presumably for the positive on the 10v source based on its location, but where's the Vout to complete the circuit? Or am I missing something obvious?
hi i have atlas pH stamp, arduino duemilanove.

i want to trigger some LEDs, buzzer, when certain pH is reached. i also want to display the pH reading on LCD display.

please help me with the code. any reference would also be really helpful.

this is my first time doing such project.

    thanks
    Dear Der,

If you´re so kind could you pls recheck my DIY LED post where I´ve exposed mores details about my canopy??
do you think it would be possible to lend some assistance with an arduino scheduler issue i have? i am trying to create for my dad a controller for...
    1) mh light
    2) cfl 1 light
    3) cfl 2 light
    4) fan
    5) pump 1
    6) pump 2
    7) led with moon phasing

i have gathered a bunch of code but need guidance with it.
please help or direct me to someone who can.

    at wits end
Hello der, it seems you are a very knowledgable person when it comes to led's and controllers and I was wondering if you can help me out. In about 2 months I want to start my very first led build and I want to build one the would perform just like the ecotech radeons or even better for 1/2 the cost which is my reason for building one in the first place. Now the thing I like the most about the radeons is the ability to adjust the lights through the computer. Is there a way I can do that with my custom lights using a basic neptunes controller or any other controller that is out on the market? I definitely don't have the knowledge to make one myself and would love the cool feature of being able to setup a sunrise/ sunset ability along with simulating storms. Thanks in advanced!
    Hey again,

I saw in the Reef Club thread that you live southeast of Syracuse. I thought I was the only one that lived southeast of Syracuse :). I don't know anyone near us with a nice saltwater fish tank. Where do you live? It would be neat if there were a bunch of people not quite as far as Syracuse, to exchange frags etc.
I have been looking on these boards for 2 days and can't find how to purchase kits or just boards.

Only place I find it at is BOOSTLED.

Please point me in the right direction.

    DWZM can you PM me?
Could you link me to a good tutorial on how to make the arduino aquarium controller. Something that lists the hardware needed and step by step to complete.. Greatly Appreciated.

    Thanks, Eric
    Greetings,

I have been trolling for quite some time and watching the DIY forums. I have noticed that quite a few of you have an extensive wealth of knowledge in the area of electronics. Yourself in particular seem to have a great passion for your work. I have seen these threads get started and grow wildly out of control and while they are extremely helpful it would be nice for those of us just finding them if all of the information were consolidated. That being said I would like to ask you a question. I know it's a lot to ask but it isn't just for me, would you be able to consolidate all of the pertinant information into a single document? Maybe a pdf or some other format where you could include examples, the pictures of your work and your progress. Maybe nothing editable but with the option for the individual to add personal notes as they progress through the reading.

It's just a thought but we never know if we don't ask.

Thanks for all the hard work youdo,
    NanoNana
Im trying to get some solid info on LED. Your name keeps popping up. I want to switch from 3-400w MH to led. Can you point me in the right direction for a diy build.
    ie.
how many led, what type of driver, controller etc.
    How many 3w cree's would I need for SPS for a 125g tank standard dim's at 60"x18"?

Are there drivers for these that can do more than 12 LED's like the meanwells?

If I mounted these to an Al. strip 60" long and thermo glued another strip perpendicular for a heatsink for each piece and blow a fan over the whole thing, would that be enough cooling?
    Hi wille,

Interested in helping with the documentation. I work as a graphic designer and I am an Ardurino and DIY enthusiast. I could help organize the documentation into a nice PDF or a website, or both. Let me know.

    Thanks!

    Hi dwzm,
I have read through just about all of your posts and your contributions to all the others. You are by far the most experienced, knowledgeable person I have read.

I have a 270 gal acrylic 72L,36Wx24T. I feel that I understand everything I need to do for the LED system based on all the info you have supplied. I am asking what YOU would build if this were your tank.

    1. how many individual 'fixtures' would be best?
would you make several long strips hanging side by side
    _________ _________
    _________ _________
    _________ _________

or 3 or 4 rectangle/squares and hang them

    2. how many total LEDs would you use?
    3. how many of each color would you buy (ratio)?
    4. which model of each color would you preferr ?

I just can't seem to decide how many LEDs or the ratio

I have read so much about how to build these but I just can't seem to determine how many LEDs I should start with and more crtical, what the ratio should be.
Thanks for any input you can provide.
Your getting ready to or are now building a large array wille. How are you doing it for your sunrise/sunset effect? And if i decided to do it like your doing it, how would i with what i`m using? BTW are you still in NY? You belong to a reef society in NY?
