    WRT the TC on longer lenses. the largest TC i've used on my 300mm f/4 is the 1.4. If it isn't bright sunshine with the 1.7, AF starts hunting. 2.0 TC is much worse. Pretty much useless unless it's mid day, not a cloud in the sky lighting. I've tried all three and will only use/own the 1.4. It...

    If you look, D90 bodies for $600 isn't uncommon now. I love mine. Just be patient. A quick peek on Craigslist locally has one for $550 and one for $650 in the last day alone. One of the major camera shops here has one on it's used list for $499.95. D70's are going for $200. :) With kit lenses...

    Any Nikkor AF will focus on the 7000. As well any AI/AI-S Nikkor will meter. Which lens was that? Seems it was sold.

    White Balance

    RAW as well but the sand bed can function as a white card as well if you have enough visible and it is clean. Have been doing that for years prior to RAW.
