    Building custom tank stand, suggestions?

I think I am going to do side panels that are attached by magnets. And the sealed section for electric is good thinking, maybe on one of the sides I will create a section with holes for cords and all of the cables will route in to that section, that way it will keep splashing salt water of the...

    Building custom tank stand, suggestions?

Thats a really good idea! The problem is that I plan on building the bottom of the interior up so that there is no lip in case i want to pull the sump out, so I dont know how effective water proofing it would be.

    Building custom tank stand, suggestions?

Yes, I already plan to build it a couple of inches deeper than the tank so I have some extra room.

    Building custom tank stand, suggestions?

A friend is going to help me build a custom stand for a 75 gallon I am setting up, I wanted to see if there were any suggestions for things that you all wish you had that I may be able to incorporate. I haven't had a tank for six years and a lot has changed since then. So a please, give me any...

Warning: Why you shouldnt buy a Medusa Worm

Yes it is why, even if the worm didn't die it releases a toxin that is extremely deadly to fish. They suffocate. You will need to do a massive water change and chalk it up as a lesson learned. You should let your LFS know that they giving misleading information.

Warning: Why you shouldnt buy a Medusa Worm

Medusa worms are different than anemones in that they actually release a toxin specific to fish. It coats their gills and they essentially drown. ALL of the fish in my tank died, and the worm was not killed, they can release their toxin even if they are picked at by a fish. Unfortunately your...

    New 46 gallon...

The reason I say the first box is usually better is because they put good stuff in the first time, so you spend money on a second box, which then sucks. Mitch doesn't even live in California, and doesn't have much to do with the physical operation of the facility there, at least that's what I...

    New 46 gallon...

Well, first Mitch will reply to your emails perhaps 10 % of the time. On the other hand, he usually answers the phone and is willing to talk. He seemed surprised that I wasn't happy, but how else should he act? Besides the fact that everything that was in the box was mediocre at best, they threw...

    New 46 gallon...

Unfortunately the puffer is dead, it went over the overflow and got sucked in to my skimmer, it did not fair well. However, it had no interest in any corals, and I watched it closely. It was an awesome addition to the tanks, and like all fish, that doesnt guarantee the next will be so coral...

    New 46 gallon...

I split a trans-shipment with my brother-in-law through livestockusa.org. Not very impressed. We were looking to get some livestock to start some aquaculturing, but for the 900 it cost us with shipping, and the sizes of the pieces we essentially got screwed. Mitch at livestockusa.org asked me to...

Heading to Hawaii plan on doing some collecting….

I went out to Molokini last year, amazing. Those triggers just swim right up to you and they are BIG! I know that in the tide pools I did see a lot of gobies and convict tangs, the gobies were ugly and I am not interested in convicts, but I think I could have caught them. I was raised going to...
