  • i work part time at my LFS, coral do not count as bio load but your fish and other inverts do anlong with uneaten food. a 10 to 20 percent change weekly will do you good i would start with a 10% change at first your 24 gal tanks water volume making up for rock and sand displacement is prob around 19 gallons10% of that is 1.9 gallons so i would start with a 2 gallon a week change. if you are having nitrate issues after a month or so increase you change weekly to 20 % or 4 gallons untill you get you nitrates down to 0, after you reached that point you can try going back to 2 gallons a week and watch to see if you nitrates start to rise or not if not thats all you need also watch your coral response they will react better to small but frequent changes. start with the smaller change and increase the amount of water changed till you get the results your looking for
