Depends on the manufacture. BK and ATB are spot on their recommendation. Most of the time you can count on the low price skimmers overstating their ability. An oversized skimmer is worst of all. What are you looking at.

I see you responded to a post about a skimmer earlier today. You responded "I am a big believer in matching the skimmer to the tank." I'm getting ready to set up a 130 gal FOWLR tank with a light to medium fish load, should I go by the manufactures "For tanks size" or the next one up?
