You could also go with aquarium safe silicone if you want but with a uniseal you would be able to remove the plumbing when you need for maintenance and replacement

If you can get your hand down there to separate the plumbing maybe you can use a uniseal. If not I would try gobbing on some thick super glue gel before you toss it if nothing else

It shouldn't be a problem since the valves line will be a full siphon anyway, may take a few more seconds to get quiet on system restart but I think you would be fine

It may shorten the lifespan some, but honestly they would still last a couple of years, I have enough that I swap the two of them out every two days and throw them all in the washer with bleach once a month
