no. but make sure you change your sediment and carbon filters when needed. i make 20 gallons a week and change my filters about every 10-12 months.

i like the refillable cartridge and i also just go by my tds in/out meter. i feel it's very reliable and lets you know what your tds reading is. their is also air water and ice. com.for another good store.

yes; wet side only and some people smear some silicone on for extra insurance against leakage. know how much to tighten the bulkheak. too many tanks have cracked from overtightening.

mine took about a year. make sure your calcium levels are good. i did have a couple peices of established rock also.
