    Sick little guy...?

Excessive nitrates could be a contributing factor.Id add some macro algae and do some water changes to start with, see if that eases the symptoms. My shrimp all live in tanks attached to my reef which are all in effect mini refugiums so Ive never seen what reaction they have to high nitrates.Maybe...

    Sick little guy...?

Check your water......Give the animal a buried length of pvc pipe to live in,ciliata live in burrows. How long has the tank been set up?Seems rather "clean" for a cycled tank.Let us know.

Death,no shrimp with eggs at animals n things. Both are female though.I have a super low flow tank on my system I grow artemia in and wanted to see what would happen if the eggs hatched with all the baby brine floating around in there.Did you happen to get a male O scyllarus?I want to do an...

    acclimating

I acclimate using a piece of airline tubing with a roll clamp.Usually put the animal in a plastic bucket with its water and drip tank water in at about a drop every 2 seconds. After the water volume has doubled I remove half and do it 2 more times.Takes a while but never had a lost life

    Live Feedings

Oh I forgot my big O scyllarus likes little neck clams(shoprite) and its a trip watching it smash em to bits and clean every bit of meat off the pieces then use the shell bits to add to her "den".

    Live Feedings

Death, whats up.Just go to any boat dock and grab some shrimp off the pilings.Or take a ride to the hook and grab some rock crabs or hermits during low tide.Mine like the mud snails too and they can be had without even getting yer feet wet.
