Come to think of it I also use a gyre in the 40g frag tank, 120g mixing tank, and 25,000g pool. More fun to swim against a current. Feels like a lazy river if you jump on a pool float with a beer. :D
When flow enthusiasm goes to far.
I would agree with rocketiengineer in that a gyre is definitely the most efficient flow for a large tank for a number of reasons and is what I use in my relatively tiny 300g. In my application the gyre direct is changed every few hours and has variable intensity. As this is a L shaped tank a...
I've been following along as well, great build so far and wonderful attention to detail. This tank has the potential to be something truly exceptional, thank you for sharing.
As far as fish and coral selection goes, this might be a fantastic opportunity to create a monster display that can...
The only difference between long and short pulse is the range in which you can control the timing intervals. I'm assuming that with the neptune "pulse" you can control the timing interval across both ranges and beyond the current limitations of those ranges.
Ordered mine as well.
Any way to get a manual up on here for it before its release? Would love to know more about its programming capabilities and how it will be accomplished.
Tim I have a quick question for you. Its been a few days now and all was going well. The switch was happening every 10 minutes and things looked good. Unfortunately I just noticed that one of the controller seems to not be working. When first plugged in it flashes some colors, then a flash of...
Tim from Ecotech eluded to the fact that the neptune control module will do what I'm looking for once it comes out. So it will not be limited by the current driver timer issues.
The vortech can also be controller via a timer without negative effects to the driver, this is according to Tim.
They serve different needs. I'm using both in my system. The vortech is super wide flow with a whole lot of undertow were as the Tunze has significantly more "punch".
What I really want out of the new module, any many others from what I can gather, is the ability to have a longer pulse mode so...
Any idea if the timer will fry the controller over a couple months? Any logic behind that assumption?
The battery backup system not being useful would suck. Can't wait for the neptune control module.
