Trying to research and feeling information paralysis

thanks Sk8tr, tank size is already in place, we are getting a free 29 gallon tank and stand from some friends of ours. It was previously a freshwater tank so there are some things that are going to have to be adjusted with it. My plan is to drill it and add and overflow system and a sump to it...

Trying to research and feeling information paralysis

Since my last post I have been trying to do as much research as I can do on building my daughter and My new 29 gallon tank. I want to keep things as simple as possible for us while building it in a way that provides easy expansion in the future as we gain more of an understanding of the hobby...

    New Reefer

Thanks I hope it will be a good project. She has very little patience and I’m a bit of a perfectionist so I don’t imagine any arguments at all.

29 Gallon tank, sump or no sump?

A very good friend of ours is graciously giving us their 29 gallon tank/stand setup now that they have gotten their feet wet in the hobby and have upgraded to a larger tank. This will be my first reef tank and while I know I can use the KISS method and aliveate a lot of headaches for myself I...

    New Reefer

Hey everyone! I have been a lurker here for years and have been dreaming of building a reef tank for about as long as I could remember. Living arrangements, personal life and finances have always kept that from happening, but finally things have made a change. A very good friend of my fiancé...

    Had enough

As much as I'd love to say yes it will be a few years before it's even an option.

    Had enough

this is my biggest fear. Right now I am very gungho about learning and getting ready to start picking stuff up to my tank together over the next few years. I worry that once I have it all up I will quickly tire of it and not put in the work it will need to stay maintained.

that is where I am at as well. The only place I know of that carries saltwater/reef livestock and supplies is Woof and Waves, are there other places? If you ever need a hand with anything shoot me a message Id be more than happy to come help you out and possibly learn a bit in the process.

Looking good Haase. I like seeing planning threads like this, helps me figure out how to go about planning the entire system. Out of curiousity where abouts in SD are you? I am in SD as well so its nice to see some others here.

    RO/DI Plumping

*I am going to preface the post with the fact that I know next to nothing about RO/DI filters and have never seen one in person so this may end up being a really stupid question* I have been reading alot on here about the "waste" water that an RO/DI unit produces, not really waste because its...
