I've not been active in the hobby for a few years.
I have a SWC 300 skimmer that was running 2 sicce 2500 pumps with mesh wheels. The pumps always have start up and seizing issues.
What is a recommended replacement pump? I found old posts that recommend the askoll 1500, but seems those...
I sent CV an email requesting the info, but -being the weekend, I thought I'd get an answer here quicker.
If the fuse blows again when replaced, then I'd be concerned and would contact the manufacture for warranty service. Right now, I just want to replace it to see if the ballast will work...
Just browsed the MS parts page... What's the difference between the 250 cup and 300 cup besides the price?
I have the 300 with 10" cup and thought it was the same size as the 250's cup. Is MS now matching the 300 cup to the 12" reaction chamber?
How does Dart perform with long horizontal runs? I'm trying to get 650gph.
I was thinking of getting a Dart that will feed my chiller... the total horizontal run is 20', vertical is about 6'.
Also, the chiller in/out connections are 1". The Dart should use 1.5" on output. The chiller is placed...
I agree with JR.
I ran 3 10Ks on 250 watt CoralVue ballasts in lumenarcs for 30 days. Then bought a 12K for comparision. After the side-by-side, I removed the 3 brand new 10Ks, ate the cost and replaced with 3 new 12Ks. SPS growth is still great.
Does anyone know if there is a pump listed in the RC head loss calculator that is comparable to the Dart?
My specs again are http://www.reefcentral.com/calc/hlc2.php?submitted=...
The specs on the Dart look good. But the Dart is not a pressure pump. It's designed more for high flow.
Are the Reeflo pumps known to be superior to the Dolphin pumps or would this just be opinion?
Also, would the Snapper be just as quiet?
The head loss calculator does not list any Reeflo pumps to see what the gph would be based on the specs I provided via the URL in first post. :(
Well if there are no suggestions for a better pump that will meet this need....
How about some feedback indicating the Dolphin Amp Master 2700 would be the right choice?
I plan on buying two so want to be sure I make the right decision and not learn later that there was a better pump out there...
I need a dedicated external pump for 1/2hp JBJ chiller, suggested flow is 500-800gph. I'm aiming for 650gph with the help of a ball valve.
- efficient - low wattage
- low heat transfer

I have had a 1" inductor sitting around for a good while and think I'll use that with which ever new return pump I go with.
I couldn't use it before because I am currently using one mag-36 pump to handled the return to display via long chiller route, return to frag tank and for my old skimmer...
