Its been so long! What should I do with my tank?

I will probably keep the clowns then. I think the lionfish would outgrow my 55g, and then I'd be in another bad postition. Any suggestions on what I should add with my current fish? It seems boring right now...

Its been so long! What should I do with my tank?

Wow, I used to spend soo much time on here when I had a boring desk job. Anyways, I have just moved to a nice new spot with my nice new girlfriend  My tank is still at the old house, and I am somewhat torn on what to do with it. I have always wanted a lionfish. I have had my female...

should I be worried? I might have messed up...

No, not yet. I'm just worried because I know that iodine is very strong. I just did a 6 gallon water change right before that. I guess I'll do another one. I guess I'm hoping to hear that someone else has done this without any problems.

should I be worried? I might have messed up...

Yesterday I did an iodine dip on a 8" rock covered in zoos. The bottle said 40 drops in one gallon of water for 10-15 minutes. I only used 20 drops in about 1.5 gallons. After 10 minutes, I shook it around a bit in the iodine water, picked it up, let it drip off, and put it back in my tank... I...

What the heck? brown/purple algae on zoos...

That's weird because this started about a month ago as well. My actinic bulbs are pretty shot now. My 12ks are only about 6 months old, but I was wondering if the dim actinics could cause a problem. I didn't think it would. It wasn't a big deal to me either until I started noticing some zoos not...

    Scammed? =/ Protein Skimmer

Haha. I ran my (reef) tank without a skimmer for about 6-7 months. I took a lot of work, but everything survived. Finally I bought the Coralife 125 for my 55g. I works great as far as I'm concerned. As long as you keep it tuned right. 1. Always keep the water at the same level. When you add...

What the heck? brown/purple algae on zoos...

I would like to get an RO/DI unit, but I have so many other obligations it's tough to put my tank at the top of the list. The dude at the LFS hooks it up with free water, so I'm going to start using his water and see what happens. As far as flow goes, the return outlet is up at the top left...
