It's not the best pic but hopefully someone can identify this anemone. It's bigger than it looks. I moved away some of the substrate to get a look at the stalk and I was surprised how big it was. This thing must have come in on some rock or something and was probably very small. I never...
I have the same problem but it's not just the clown. My Sailfin does it as well. I just feed them first and quickly feed the Nem with a long pair of tongs and I use the tongs to keep the thieves away until the Nem has a super solid hold on its food. It works most of the time.
I was able to get my lionfish to take frozen food after a few days. When I brought him home, I started him on live guppies that had been acclimated to saltwater. As soon as they hit the water, he was on them. After about 3 days, I went with a piece of frozen (thawed of course) Krill. He...

Getting Better With Some Help From Cleaners
The wound where he was peeled from the floor started to look bad and I got worried. I was thinking of adding some sort of antibiotic to the tank but after a day or so it doesn't seem necessary. I have two...
Trigger Update
Trigger Update
Update...he is almost back to 100%. He hid for the first day, only coming out to eat which was a good sign and today he is almost normal. He is not quite as assertive as he was before which I'm attributing to him being hurt. He doesn't want any trouble right...
Last night I came in and realized I left the hood to my canopy lifted. At about the the same time, I saw my Niger on the floor in front of my tank. He as dry and stiff. I thought "damn...I'll never leave that thing open again" as I picked him up to flush him. My nephew happened to be here...
Not sure if this has been done before but I was curious about how old some of our fish can get. Speaking for myself, I have a Blue Tang I purchased at my LFS 9 years ago. She was maybe a little bigger than a quarter. She's doing great and lives in a 175g bowfront FOWLR tank with a 55g sump...
I had a Sailfin and a Naso. When I added the Yellow, Mr. Naso turned into psycho killer. I pulled him out and he spent two weeks in the quarantine tank all alone. At the two week mark, I rearranged some of the rock work in the display tank and put the Naso back in. This time the Yellow...
I am really sorry your fish didn't make it. If I'd seen this earlier I would have suggested a fresh water bath. I see you mentioned it but not sure if you tried it. I had an issue with a Sailfin Tang. Not quite like this but I was at a loss just the same. A fresh water bath cleared it right...
I posted this in the clownfish forum with no luck. I'm hoping someone here can help. About a week ago I noticed these black spots on both clowns. They seemed to increase over a day or two then leveled off. I gave it a few days and it started to clear up, or at least looked that way..then it...
About a week ago I noticed these black spots on both clowns. They seemed to increase over a day or two then leveled off. I gave it a few days and it started to clear up, or at least looked that way..then it was back and has leveled off at what you see in the pic.
I've read it could be...
I found one of my recently acquired coral frags turned over one morning...upon closer inspection, I found this clam attached and growing on the underside. Any idea what type it may be and what I should do with him? Should I pry him off and put him in a spot where he can get some light? I'm...
I had a pair of True Percula's in a 50g with 2 PJ Cardinals, 2 Benggai Cardinals and a blenny. Everything was great for a while. I have to believe this tank provided more than enough room for these fish. They all seemed to eat properly and I fed them regularly. All of the sudden, the larger...
