Hanging in there -- the new house is keeping me pretty darn busy. Deciding what to do with the tanks. I currently only have one (( 75 gallon )) running at the Mother-In-Laws (( from when we were in between homes )). Need to either transfer it over, or just sell it all.
It does make perfect sense (( this thread is slowly jogging my memory )). At least they (( Hamilton )) still makes the PC ballast if you need that one too.
Alas, I sold those ballasts at least 13 years ago, so I can't give them to you.
I would contact them, but I am willing to bet that you...
That pictured cord -- is that from the PCs, or the MH? Old Hamilton's used similar looking ones for both;
My old 2*250 ballast,
They also used this configuration for a bit too --- which they still make.
The PC ballasts ---- which it looks like they still sell
Blast from the past...
About 3 years ago (( perhaps longer )) the female jumped --- my fault, left the screen off after a water change. I still have the male (( now female )), that is paired with an B&W O. To the best of my knowledge they have not spawned. However, they are currently in a...
I have had 3 over the years....
The first one came from Diver's Den. I had it for about 3 years. Started eating prepared foods the minute it was released into the main tank. At the time it was in my 58 (( 3 footer )) with a Coral Beauty and Multi-Colored angels. Was a bit shy but, did well...
Does your ATO dump into your sump or your tank?
Need to make sure that that line that empties the water into your tank is higher than the highest part of the water level in your ATO, or it will siphon to that point.
Sure thing.
As close to the same height as you can get them.
Yeah, I put a gate on both, and kept them separate the whole time. Almost treat them like 2 different tanks going into a shared sump.
Can see the left side here, the left bulkhead/drain is the E-drain
Here you can see the...
Mine was running for about a year, and I didn't have any issues with have an Herbie in each overflow. The right one seems to flow slightly faster (( judging from my filter socks )), but really didn't cause an issue. I have a feeling I was slightly off with my measurements and one of the...
When I had my 210 RR set up (( in the process of building a house, and took it down before the old place sold )), I had an Herbie in each overflow, and had the returns going over the back. (( when I set it back up, I doubt I will split the returns )). Worked very well for me.
Can see the...
I am going to have to disagree with the "no" that were posted above.
My current tank is a 75, which has a piece of egg crate dividing it in half. (( We are currently in the process of having a house built, so I took down all but one of my tanks. This tank is at my mother-in-laws holding the...
I had a yellow tang in a 75 for about 3 years. As it grew larger it became more erratic with its swimming style, darting in and out of caves. It started to become stress to watch it in that tank. Then I set up a 210 (( 6 footer )), and moved that tang into it. It was like a had a new fish...
Things are moving along nicely with the move -- have one more tank item to deal with, and that is an old 20 long sump. Made it myself and used it for years with no issues.
(( the Kalk has already been spoken for ))
When it was up and running on my 75 (( or my 65, can't remember, used the...
