0 tds from ro before membrane

Is it normal to have 0 TDS after membrane before DI
My feed water supply tds is 205. Before RO membrane is 169 and after RO membrane 0 TDS. I have a couple of TDS meter. I swap to double-check and both give me the same reading

The pre-filters would filter most solids but not necessarily remove TDS. The membrane does that. So your system is working as should be. Hope that answers your question.

I remember seeing in one of BRS videos that world wide corals just ran a big RO system on there tanks with no DI. Maybe you are fortunate enough to have good enough water to not need a DI? I’d probably run RODI anyway just because I am paranoid, but at least your resin should last a long time.

Yes a good RO system can reduce TDS to 0 depending on incoming water quality and the shape of your RO membrane. Flush regularly.

You are lucky. Our water sucks so bad that its almost impossible to get zero.
