Perhaps I'll make a road trip..

Did they have any mis-bar ones?

I didn't see any. I did buy one. We will see how it does. It has great color and looks quite healthy. They are starting to look like deathco though. They had several tanks that had many dying fish. They all appeared to be in with the inverts. I asked about the water. The tanks with inverts are on a different system than the Fish only tanks. The fish only looked pretty good (except for a humu humu which they just received yesterday).

Time for some "I support Deathco" avatars....

perhaps that store is one of the few that isn't a detriment to this hobby... has anyone been questioning their knowledge levels there... go in there acting like a newb and see if you can buy one and add it to a brand new tank (you filled that morning)...

Their knowledge level may be questionable. There was a women there asking about starting a tank. She was told it was much more difficult than freshwater. Then she asked if the only thing you need to measure was salinity, and was told yes... I was afraid she was planning on buying a whole setup and loading fish today :( I didn't hang around for the rest of the conversation.

Just my 2 cents again... and I know it's common terminology for the people who are around them... but the whole "Deathco" thing bothers me... I'll bash someone over the head with facts till the cows come home, but that term strikes me as slanderous...
Obviously some of us are going to shop there and I think things like that will make "club sponsorships" a lot more difficult too... FWIW

Do they have any left?

Their salt and dry goods are very expensive. I can get a bucket of salt from Garys for less. Of course, I think Gary's salt prices are fairly competitive.

Petco had 50 gallon IO salt mix for 15.95. Better than Findlay PSP but not as good as Gary's.

I got the $21 from their website... sounded pretty crazy to me...
I can't believe they're actually calling them Nemos though...

If you say it, its Slander...

If written, its Libel...

They would have to prove it was not true...

Regarding either I believe these only can be applied legally to people, not companies.... more likely they will get us on a copyright infringement (since the courts won't allow Linux to use the term Lindows without getting microsoft all angry)...

I doubt that company (which I still don't think has been mentioned by name in this thread) is in the business of sponsoring any clubs.... but even then, due to their immoral business practices regarding marine fish should even be in the business and I would never solicit them for sponsorship... by supporting them their fish blood is on your hands too... the one near me almost always has a floatie in one of the tanks... If they want to lose that nick name, it is up to them...

My 2.5 cents...

The term 'deathco' is simply an opinion. It is substantially different than the name Petco, so anyone who reads it would not think it is authorized by Petco and therefore would not infringe on any copyrights or trademarks. The other caveat is that no one is looking to make money off of the term 'deathco' like Linux's intention with 'Lindows.'

It would not be libelous to say that Petco's fish die in their tanks a lot or that they all look sick or most of the fish I buy from Petco die. Nor would it be to call Petco 'deathco,' as it is simply an obvious opinion of the writer. It would, however, be libelous to say, "Petco buys fish from an unlicensed diver and all their fish are caught with cyanide." Unless, of course, you had facts to back up your claim.
