100 GPD RO/DI Group Buy

I have spoken with a supplier on buying ten 100GPD RO/DI units. I bought my last RO/DI unit from this seller last year. It did a good job for a year, keeping a TDS of zero for the first six months and steadily rising up to about 5 ppm the last six months. So I am now ready to buy new membranes for my filter but I thought I would see how much I could buy the whole unit for if I bought them in bulk. He said he would sell me ten 100gpd units for $35.00 shipped if you paypal me you will also need to add 3% to cover paypal fees. So if anyone needs a RO unit I would like to do a group buy within the next couple weeks. If your in, please contact me. He also sells TDS meters and floats to shut off RO filters so if you need any of these let me know and I will see how much they are if we buy in bulk.

Think of it this way, you cannot usually even buy the RO membrane at this price.

Thanks,

Phillip

Can you pass along any more info about this unit? I'm just about ready to buy one but I was pricing much higher end setups.

Got any specifics about the unit
What type of membrane, clear housings?

Is there a limit how many we can buy?

I have used this same unit for over a year now, it is reliable and works well. It also comes with auto shut off valve and can be regulated by a float. It does not have clear housing but who gives a rat's butt. If you were to buy it on your own it would be $100.00 which is still very reasonable. I have owned four systems, and this one is just as good as the others I have used. I would like to order by Oct. 18th. If so they may be delivered before the next meeting. I need at least ten to get the deal.

I truly believe this is a great deal and even if you do not need one right now, it would be worth buying and waiting a few months to connect after your current RO is depleted.

I might be quoting the wrong amount. I think he may be just quoted me the price for the RO membrane only. Anyway, I will check back with him and see what the quote is for ten whole units. I will give you guys an update as soon as possible.

Do you really need a new membrane or just new filters?
Sediment filters, carbon blocks and DI resin typically last 6-12 months depending on your water. The actual ro membrane should last several years unless it's been damaged.
When did you change your resin and filters? If they are a year old and you're still getting 5 TDS the membrane is fine.

Sorry, I misunderstood the seller. It looks like it is only the RO membrane for $35.00. He said he would make me a "deal" for ten units at $95.00 a piece. If anyone is interested in this let me know.

Well, not much of a deal. If you add up the unit and shipping from ebay then he is only knocking off about $4.50 per unit not much of a savings. I wonder if we could find a better deal through someone else?

I have had mine for a little over a year and it is the same unit described above. It is a good unit produced less than five ppm up to the last couple months. But most of you guys do not use as much water as I do so this unit would probably last most people about two years. I thought it wasn't that great that the guy only dropped down about $5.00 on his asking price but it still is a good deal for a RO/DI machine with auto shut off and six stage filtration. If you can find a better buy for less than $95.00 I am all ears. But as I said I have used this system before and I know it does a good job.

I may just replace my RO filter because I have a spare set of pre-filters.

Piper what unit are you using?
