Sorry,

Thats not a really good deal. You can buy bigger units for less on ebay.

If you know where you can get a better deal would you please post a link. I am looking for a good Six Stage RO. BTW, usually larger units produce lower quality water.

You can change out filter a couple times before you get $95 worth
I would just replace what you need.

I'm interested in setting up a group buy on DI resin if you want
I usually order about 5 pounds myself,in a couple of months

But most of you guys do not use as much water as I do so this unit would probably last most people about two years.

My ro/di is 7+ years old. Keith used it for a 180 and I've got the 220 so it's seen some use. It's had the ro membrane replaced once and needs a new one now. Every part of a standard ro unit is replaceable so I don't understand the reason to buy a new one every year or so? Unless your Matt and leave it outside

If you truly need a new membrane buckeyefieldsupply
sells the filmtec, the best membrane on the market, for $45.00.
fwiw a properly functioning ro membrane should remove 96-98% of containments. DI removes the rest.
Measure the TDS of your source water then check it post RO to see how well a membrane is working.

I may just replace my RO filter because I have a spare set of pre-filters.
Do you mean the sediment and carbon filters? They only protect the membrane so they won't have any effect on TDS. Of course they still need changed regularly to extend the membrane's life. I'd change those and replace your DI resin.

A goup buy on DI resin sounds like a great idea.

I was just thinking about buying a new unit. I probably only need the RO membrane but look at it this way, $45.00 for just the membrane plus the cost of the pre-filters or $95.00 for a whole new unit.
