115 lbs of Rock too much??

Well my tank has been up and running for a year this month and I thinking of doing some changes to it.
One question I have is about the amount of LR I have in my tank. when I set it up I used 30 ibs of "reef rock" as a filler and built my LR up and around it so it is hidden. I used 85 ibs of LR for a total of 115 lbs of rock in a 65 gallon tank.
I'm looking at my tank and thinking.......Man that is alot of rock.
Do you think I went a little overboard?
I was thinking of tearing it down and just keeping the 85 lbs of LR?
I think the fish need more room to swim

no such thing as too much, but do whatever looks best to you. Lots of people build their live rock up around something like a PVC structure or an egg crate so they get the desired effect with less rock. 85lbs would still be plenty to support a heavy bio load in a 65gal tank.

Yeah,
I'd go with the 85 lbs of main rock.
The same thing happened to me except I haven't fixed the fact yet.
Last summer I made a trip when I was setting up a 55 and I eneded up getting nearly 200 lbs of nice HUGE pieces of LR, corals, etc etc for 450.00.
I ended up selling 30 lbs of the rock, and putting 10 pounds in my 10 gallon tank, so I still have nearly 160 pounds give or take a few in my 55 tank w/ a 55 sump/fuge.
The display is sooo overcrowded. There's no more room for corals or livestock until I redo the sump/fuge and take some rocks out of the display.

Do it now before you start getting alot of corals/start spreading. They'll attach to the rocks and next thing you know you won't be able to take much of the rocks out because its overflowing with corals.

I do agree that you can't have too much LR but the other point is valid too. The whole tank is just too overcrowed with LR.
I've been checking out other members tanks "pics" and most that i see don't have a "Mountain" in their tank like mine. It's pretty much wall to wall and back to almost front. And reaches to within 4 inches from the water surface.
I only have a few coral's on the go right now....(bubble, brain, long tenticle plate and pulsing Xenia. and some shrooms..LOL
I do have a neon green star polyps.( I think that is what it is called) and it has spread onto 3 different small pieces of LR.
Anyway I can cut it just so I can seperate the 3 pieces of LR?

Yeah cutting the green star polyps to seperate the rocks is fine.
