Well, here goes. I am helping my brother(waynesworld) finally get his monster u shape tank put together. Below are some pics of where we are so far. He built a 2800+ sq ft addition on his house and had the tank and tank room roughed in then. We will continue to add pics throughout the week on our progress.
Tank is
102x16x38
85x25x38
128x28x38

Here is the side of the living room and hallway.

Ok, blast away with ????

this looks cool. Did you consider having a rounded inside. That way flow wouldn't be so impeded. It would probably need to be custom acrylic tho. Not sure if you're using acrylic or glass.

NICE tunzes!

Hi fellas-

This looks like a really fun project and a very unique design. I have one big ?????

1200 gallon tank with who knows how much in sumps. Hot tub room.

I hope you have given serious consideration to humidity control.
(that was the question).

Oh, Oh...I have another. How are you going to seal the tank? Fiberglass/epoxy? Fiberglass/polyester?

Wow... I can't wait until this one is done... I live in the same city was WaynesWorld... can't wait to see it!

is the hot tub the fuge??LOL:) at least you'd have temp control & it has its own jet system & probably even has tables for frags.

Hi Del,
1- There are vents in the fish room behind the tanks. The hot tub room will have humidity controlled fans going outside.
2-He is usins something called Sani Tred. It is used to seal alligator enclosures. After the 1st and 2nd coat of sealant, a liquid rubber sealant is then added.
3- He will only use 2 waveboxes....that means he has an extra, doesn't he...hmmmmmmm :)

Are you in town helping him Steve? First pics I have seen and all I can say is WOW! That is going to be super cool! I also see some dehumidifiers in one pic. to take care of some humidity problems. Are you all going to just fill it with tap? I couldn't imagin running all RO/DI in that thing, it would take a month!

Also in the rouph in plumbing did he install a drain from the tank to just open a valve for water changes?

Dell Well since it is salt water I that I would go get a tuna fish to tune the tunze. Actually I am not sure how the wave boxes will work we will have to play with them and if one is extra I am sure Steve will make room for one in his new 3,000 gal tank he will be building. You know how big brothers are so size conches to there little brothers. The Humidity will be controlled with a combo of vent to outside, Dehumidifiers and Central air.

Angela Steve is down here and I do have two drains one in the fish room and another in the hot tub room. I will be using the Kati Ani unit for filtering water so I will not have any waste water and be able to recharge the filters.

You will definetly have to host a meet when that thing is finnished!! Its gonna be nice!
Nothing wrong with a little brotherly competition! :)

Interested to see how those waveboxes are going to work on this tank. Did you check with Roger on the Tunze forum to make sure the frequencies will not negate each other when they hit at the connecting point?

He probably/should have bought one wavebox and two "wavebox extentions". That's why you see that Y adapter sitting there. Two of the waveboxes next to each other pushing while the other one on the other side of the tank is off and vice versa.

Well we got the overflows built and Steve had to go home I am now trying to figure out were to mount screws for all the tunze equipment I want to have different options so what I am planning on doing is to drill holes in a 1x4 like 3 or 4 even spaced so I can glue the nylon screws to the board then attach it to the tank and seal it when I seal the tank. The problem is I want to prepare if I want to move it around for flow but don't want 100 screws in the tank sticking out. I am thinking that I will have a rock wall that will cover most of the screws and also camo the pumps some.
