150w and 250w

Are these DE bulbs the same size? do they fit in the same sockets or are they different?

If I were to buy a new 250w ballast could I potentially upgrade my 150w de coralife fixture to 250w de?

The 150w DE are smaller and do not fit into a 250w DE mount. I think you can upgrade the coralife fixture by buying 250w DE mounts since i think both reflectors are not same size, but verify it in the equipment forum.

You could change the sockets in the fixture & change the ballast to 250's to upgrade to 250's the only thing that would worry me would be the added heat and if the wire was the correct gauge to handle the extra current. Worst case , you change the wires in the fixture and add some PC fans for cooling...

Some fixtures have two piece DE sockets - you can loosen a few screws and slide the ends closer together or further apart. My PFO Mini pendants are like this.
