180 gallon and 6080

I'm upgrading to a 72 inch 180 reef--thinking of a 6080 in a decorock directed across the length of the tank, with a "lesser" pump at the other end, and , of course returns causing random flow.

I understand the 6080 can be turned on and off several times daily, true?

Does this sound like a reasonable scheme? I really dont want to fill my tank with pumps.

It sounds like it could work, especially with a good return system that gives some randomness. You can switcha 6080 up to once an hour.
