2 Bengaii Cards..1 not looking good

So I picked up 2 Cards on Sunday from a LFS (they have been there for weeks). After temp acclimating them and matching sg exactly I put them in a formalin bath for 45 mins in a 5 gallon bucket then into a 10 gallon qt. Tried to feed but they had no interest. Transferred them to other 10 gal qt when I tested ammonia level in qt tank 1 and saw it was high. Did TTM today and dosed with Prazi. Both looked great from about 130 pm til 730pm then all of a sudden the larger of the 2 does not look good. I matched salinity and temp exactly. What could I have done differently? I have been researching this for a very long time and thought I had all of my bases covered. Any help would be appreciated.

I bought 3 one time. 2 smaller ones and a bigger one. The 2 smaller ones paired and the 3rd bigger one was a loner. First, one of the smaller ones died (more like disappeared never saw him 2 days after I put him in) then the other smaller one got depressed maybe and he wasn't the same. He stopped moving and wouldn't eat. A week later I found my urchin munching on him. Big one is alive and well.
Are they a mated pair?
Watch them for bullying. Even though the bigger one is getting sick the smaller one could just be bullying him and causing lots of stress.
Not much but hope it helped some way

Yes, they are a mated pair. Last night I had no hope for him but today is completely different. Still looks like he's just floating every now and then but if I tap the table the qt tank is on he snaps out of the "funk". I wonder if the Prazipro is making him high. Tomorrow I'll swap them into the other 10 gal with no Prazi and see if he's the same. And neither will eat.

Maybe that's it. Mine literally just sat and didn't move or swim before it died no matter if I tapped on the glass or just barely touched him with tongs. You should be just fine. Cardinals are really weird fish lol

some of what I read regarding QT, and I am only a newbie so take this with a grain of salt, is not to medicate unless needed. the addition of medication when there are no signs of illness can lead to added stress. maybe TTM with no additives will help
