I had a few questions regarding a few coral and inverts.

I have PC's so I know that I can't have SPS but everyone tells me I can have the Montipora
By looking around real quick I found these different types and they all say that I can use PC's on them. Does anyone disagree with any of these?

Leaf Plate
Digitata
Elkhorn
Capricornis
Undata
Aequitubeculata
Encrusting

Also, I was talking to someone and they advised not to have a 2nd anemone in the tank unless it's off a split but is that for ALL anemones or specific ones? I have a green bulb tipped and was looking at maybe getting a blue carpet anemone...I have a 72 bow and my bulb tipped is at the very end and I don't plan on him moving at all. It's a cave and he really likes it. But that's not to say the new anemone will stay on the other side...What do you all think?

Really, this is just a bit of advise from someone who had to learn the hard way but.......

SLLOOWWWW DDOOOWWWNNNNN

Give you tank time to age. make sure your one anemone does well for a few months before you even think of another one

You may be able to have the sps you listed live but I dont think they will thrive.

Let your tank age, let the things you have now grow and settle. One of the hardest things in this hobby is to learn patience.

No problem clark. Yeah, I am a bit impatient but I'm not looking at getting any of these soon. Especially the anemone. I am compiling a list of things I see that I might like and what type of lighting, waterflow, feeding, price, etc... That way I know what I'm buying (except for things I've never seen which is a lot of things) I have researched and feel comfortable with my decisions.

I had a huge excel spreadsheet of hundreds of fish and just over time of talking with people and research I narrowed it down to about 9 fish I would even consider and I've stuck to that. So, I'm just trying to do a similar sheet with corals, inverts, etc...

As always, your help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Justin

ive seen it done but never seen great results once i moved the pieces from a friends tank to under my mh i saw much better color and extention

Clark is right ,but it is tough to be patient, but it will pay off in time ! I would strongly advise against a blue carpet as they have about a 1 in 10 survival rate ! Also not a cheap gamble . If you decide to try sps start with a smaller frag or colony and see how it does before you commit to an exspensive coral that might not live !

I agree with the others on the slow down part. Keep going slow and doing your research, that is very smart and a great Idea. Just remember to go slow, and give the tank time to mature.

On the PC with SPS, those will live but you will not see the colors, nor the growth that you see with MH. I have tried sticking some of those SPS in my nano with PC and they all turned brownish.

IMO, your PC's won't give a carpet anemone enough light. Personally, a bubble tip anemone is the only hosting anemone I would try with PC's. Also, carpets get pretty big for a 72. If full grown it would take up most of one side of the tank.

trust me, sps dont get their best color unless under halides. i have had my sps switched from T5 to halied for a month and they all have 20 x as much color. although they still have the same rapid growth as under t5, just better color.

dont waste your money. most pc people do mostly softies.
