2 Years with GEO

Two years with a GEO calcium reactor,first the good things about the reactor it works like george said it would ,i change the media every 6 mos and a new co2 one time a year.The PH will not go down at night it about 8.2 before the lights come on and i do not used kalkwasser to help keep the ph up .The only thing that to be change is a new lid because it would not seal . Would i buy one again yes. A good calcium reactor for the money.

I have used only one kind A R M calcium reactor media 8 lb so i can not tell you the ones that do not work well .

I wonder what is on the horizon for GEO if he has halted production on the skimmers?? I wonder what is next. I have used his skimmers and CR's in the past and loved them.

He's focusing more on his calcium and kalk reactors, so that is why he is putting skimmers on the back burner at this time. If you request the skimmer he has listed on his web site, I'm sure he will build it for you.

I just picked up GEO's cousin, MR-2 Skimmer, but am considering getting my GEO CR back, well, maybe just a new one. That sucker held 6 or 8lbs of media. And now with GEO pushing the Schuran<sp> look-a-like media, I am apt to get it sooner than later.

There's much better flow around the bigger diameter media and it's not prone to channeling as the media dissolves. I've been using it for 6 months or so and I like it much better than the Coralith media I was using.

I've been eyeballing their reactors for a while. I don't need one just yet, so I will continue to do my homework. Kind of hard to beat the darned good pricing too!

I ran one of his old dual stage reactors for 4+ years. I broke it by stepping on it (don't ask) Sold it to NMReef, he fixed it and is probably still using it. I didn't buy another one but I did buy one of his recirc skimmers and another Kalk reactor. George is a great guy to deal with and stands by his products.
