230/2 protein skimmer

Hey roger!

my question is i am setting up a 180 gallon tank and it will have a little of everything in it,would you recommend the 230/2 for in the sump over something like the lifereef protein skimmer. i know you like tunze products and so do i, but the lifereef skimmer is also a gentle skimmer but alot more powerful then the 230/2.
would the 230/2 be enough skimmer for this type of tank?

The Lifereef is a very good skimmer but I don't see how it could be exactly gentle. Only Tunze uses the contact gradient method of skimming which prevents living plankton from entering the pump. The Lifereef is a traditional venturi skimmer and while a very good one will harm plankton though maybe not as much as a downdraft or beckett injector type. I like Tunze for the small size and energy efficiency. Lifereef would be the choice of alot of my friends but I will only use Tunze myself.

Warner saltwater has water pumps than what WO!skimmer puts in. Plus it pulls much more air than protein skimmer.
