Over the weekend I went from this display tank:

With this set up:

To this tank:

And this set up:

Needless to say, I'm happy as a clam.

Any thoughts, suggestions, or comments are welcomed!

Couple of things to note:

- The new set up is a DAS 50g. I moved from a Large CPR AquaFuge to a Small CPR AquaFuge in the process of switching because of the limited 30" width. As of yet, there is no sump.

- The tank is set up in the the same location in the same house. We just repainted.

- Everything, and probably more, from the original set up is for sale or trade. I'll post a thread when I have a complete list of items, but here's a tenative list of items:

(1) 37 gallon tall (30")
(1) 20 gallon long (30")
(1) 30" metal stand, holds two 30" tanks
(1) 30" fluorescent hood w/ 1 Marine Glo, 1 10k
(1) CPR Large AquaFuge
(1) TetraTec PF300
(1) AquaClear 70
(1) 20 lb bags of pink sand

- I built a remote deep sand bed out of a Rubbermaid 10 gallon container. I chose a shallower container with more surface area, so we'll see how it works out. When it's done curing, I'll post pictures.

- Yes, those are "moving men" under the tank. The set up weighs in excess of 500 lbs and was set up away from the newly painted walls. They didn't really help. I really need wheels.

- I donated the long spined urchin to Aquatic Wildlife in Manchester. They put it in the large, not for sale reef tank with the giant, shiny fish. Next time you're in, say hi. He was too big for any of their other tanks.

- I donate the Cowrie Tiger to Chris from Aquatic Wildlife.

- I am down to two yellow tailed damsels, courtesty of one hungy anemone.

i hope you have pleanty of phyto to feed that flame scallop. and even then its survival is rare.
but anyways, its looking great!

oh yeah, and PM sent;)

fishieness, I feed the clam dried phyto. I knew when I got him that he may not last long. If you look closely, a long lost relative of his has a shell on the top, left powerhead. ;) That one lasted a few months without phyto, so hopefully this one will last longer.

Thanks for the compliments on the stand. It's not my style, but it works in the room it's in. :)

Does anyone use wheels under their tanks?

Don't want to jinx myself but I have an electric flame scallop and the person I got it from claims that he had it for 1.5 years. I feet DT's, phyto, marine snow, Coralife invert target food, and Kent Macro vert.
The thing seems to be doing fine........

Herpn, do you know how large each of the foods are? My understanding is that they will only eat foods that are several microns and smaller. What is your feeding schedule for it?

(I'd really love for mine to live for a long time.)
