30 gallon Oceanic

Here's some pics of the Oceanic 30 cube I just plumbed into my 75 gallon. I tried a couple of weeks ago with a 24 Nano Cube and the project blew up when I noticed a crack in the right top corner.
I brought the 30 gallon out to Rod at Rod's Reef to get it drilled. Two trips out to DeKalb in two weeks to get two separate tanks drilled, I don't recommend it. Rod was great and we got it done. I decided to go with two 1" holes for two separate durso's and one return from the main sump. Drilling went great, Rod is a real pro at this.
After building a horizontal overflow, I was ready to go.

This is embarassing but it works. I had a hard time connecting the two durso's and the plumbing turned out a little cockeyed. It's quiet and thats all I care about, I can adjust either durso's to whatever height I want the overflow and the overflow itself could probably take twice the flow I'm putting through it.

I used a wye with two ball valves to connect the Mag12 to both tanks, same one I had set up for the Nano Cube.

Here is the experiment!
Everything is working perfectly. I was really worried about the DIY horizontal overflow but it is quiet, and seems to be able to take a ton of flow if needed. I used some extra southdown that I had stored and LR that I had in the small nano and 75 that I had picked up the last month or so getting ready for this.
The Mag12 is split between the two tanks, gives good flow but really not as much as I thought. I put in a SEIO 820 and that really mixes everything up.
I have two Onyx clowns and a yellow watchman goby in the tank now.

What do you think of the "clamp on MH"? I've got a corner tank that that type might work on.

Thank you Pufferpunk. It took a couple of day's to clear up, get the haze out but now it's looking clear.

I really like the clamp on pendant Dux.

i like that overflow i was trying to think of what i could do with my 37g and i like the way you made that going to have to try making one of those.

it really was easy. I'm no DIY guy and I think it came out fine. The silicone is difficult to work with, extremely sticky but you have time to tweak it before it sets. PM me if you want a step by step.

ok i got some weld on i might try doing it out of acrylic

I didn't want to do it with acrylic because I have a glass tank. I wouldn't trust it to stay on for a long time but acrylic on acrylic you're all good.
