I am in the market for a 40 Gallon Breeder. I bought one from a local church rummage sale, but after I got it home I realized it was for reptiles and not fish. So fortunately they let me return it and gave me my money back. So I am at stage one again. Also if anyone is using a 40 gallon breeder I would love to see pics of their tank all set up. thanks

I have a bearded dragon in a 29. I bet he'd like a 40. I'm not sure I'm willing/able to drive to lakewood from Akron to buy it. Let me know if we can make it happen.

stevestank, there have been a lot of tanks for sale at the recent fish club auctions in Tallmadge at the Community Center. The next one is scheduled for noon this Sunday, Nov. 5. Very likely the best place to get a deal on an aquarium. Nearly all the livestock and equipment is geared to freshwater, but when something comes up that is reef or marine, the auctioneer usually has to beg to find someone (me) to buy it for a buck. I usually get this stuff, but I am going to leave the auction early this time so it's all yours.

How about a 55 with stand? I can throw in a screen top for $75. I bet he'd like a 55 better than a 40. I can bring it to Akron (Tallmadge area) Sunday morning.

i need a all glass 50 gallon or 65 gallon
All I have to get out of my garage is a 75 setup and a 55 tank & stand. Check out the auction in Tallmadge. I have been there when there were dozens of large tanks. One time there was a moving van load of 50 gallon breeder tanks when a goldfish breeder closed his facility and brought some of his tanks to the auction.

The 72 gallon prop tank is very tempting, but I don't want to have to buy another light. Thanks for the offer though, but I think I will keep searching for a 40 Gallon Breeder. I can't make it to those auctions, but if someone finds one there I will buy it off of them.

Curious as to the 72g prop tank. Where is the overflow and how much? Considering my main tank is 72g, this is a little more than I had needed, but I can't pass up a deal. Sadly Ben just sold that 48" hood...

Chris,

You're welcome to visit my 40 Breeder, if you're ever on the east side. I love the dimensions. The shallow depth allows for excellent light penetration; the width, similar aquascaping to a larger tank. I would actually like to go a little wider and little taller when I upgrade, but I don't want a 48" tank because I don't want to have to invest in that much light and the space where I have my tank is best suited to the 36-40" range.

Cheers,
Ben

the 40 br is a nice size tank i like the 40br 50 gal and 65gal with built in overflow i would look at all those as possibles

Hi Fambrough,
I would love to visit you and your tank sometime. I was thinking that maybe this is a good time for you to upgrade. hahaha! I would take that tank off of your hands. What do you use for a stand? Do you have any photos of your tank that you could post?

chris

I like the 40B because the bottom glass is not tempered - which makes for more drilling options.

I was lookin for items to sell at the auction that is this sunday, I found a 40 gallon breeder. I bought it for a sump for one of my customers tanks ended up not using it. Paid 110 for it at wet pets I would like to get 80 out of it. It does have acrylic dividers in it I could remove those let me know if your interested, Paul. I'll be at the auction in Tallmadge on sunday.

Chris,

You're welcome to visit. Email or PM when you've got the inclination. We chefs have some whacky hours, perhaps not at whacky as firemen/medics. :D Belive it or not, I use an old desk as a stand. Works fine. I like having drawers below the tank.

Cheers,
Ben
