400w 10K Ushio Anyone use them?

I just picked up 3 of them for my tank and one of them looks very yellow then the other two. The other 2 are a nice crisp white.

Is there a burn in period with these bulbs?

Has anyone else had this experience with these bulbs?

unsrew the yellow one a half turn. same thing happens to me with the xm 10k's.

No luck...

I did look at the bulb a little closer and I did see that on the internal part that lights up there is some type of clearish yellow spot?

I looked at the other bulbs, and while they also have, it is 1/10 of the size of the one on this bulb.

As part of the "burn in" process I wonder if this spot will clear up?

let it burn in and see what happens.

did u add anyhting new to the circuit the lights are on. imnot an electrician, so dont take my input as proffesional,but when i added too many lights to the same circuit it made the last bulbs on the sameline burn alittle yellow. i disconnected one 4x96 watt fixture from that line and the bulb went back to normal. i think i was pulling too much power from that single circuit.

No, nothing new to the circut but I was running 20K's prior to these so I may have never noticed since they are so blue, I'll give it a shot when I get home from work and see if it makes a difference.

I'll post the results tonight.

Well I returned the Bulb and picked up a new one.

This one is just like the other 2, a nice crisp white color.

I guess maybe it had something to do with the yellow spot?
