48" x 48" x 24" Current ?'s

I'm in the planning stages of a large cube tank 4' x 4' x 2' and would like to know if the combination of the wavebox as well as a couple of streams would be enough current for a SPS tank? It will be setup this way or with a closed loop. The biggest question is will the wavebox work on the rear wall next to the Overflow box? Thanks for your reply. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

It will work if positioned in front of the overflow toward the end and I think one 6000 and a wavebox would be sufficient

So you would actually attach it to the overflow? I could have the overflow made a little longer with no teeth in the middle and attach it there, if thats what you meant.

No, I would place it on the end pane of the tank in front of the overflow. Looking in from the front it would be positioned right in front of the overflow box blowing across the length of the tank from the side wall.

Ok here is picture just to be sure I understand you correctly.

Ahh, I see. I also had the impression the tank was 48 by 24 by 24. I need to pay more attention. To be honest I am uncertain how it will work on a cube tank. Either way could work but I strongly suspect in this case you will need the wavebox extension. Given the tanks width. This has come up before so I know someone could give a definitive answer- you might try a search. Sorry for the mix up.

Wavebox won't work at all....At best I was able to get a 0.2" inch surge on my 48x48x24.....I'd go with 4 6100s....That's what I did and save the wavebox for a different tank.....

Have any pictures or threads with your tank? How do the 6100's do? where do you have them placed? Thanks.

I have the 6100 installed at each corner of the tank....from the front (viewing side) of the tank I have the powerheads pointed towards the center....From the back (overflow side) I have the powerheads pointed directly perpendicular to the front (viewing side). I have the multi-controller set on wave mode with an approx. 2-3 hour on/off per each set of pumps...occassionally I'll manually switch on all the pumps to get things really moving though.

If you do a search on my handle "H22ATypeS" you'll be able to find some threads with pictures of my tank. These threads are usually labeled with "Just wanted to share" or something like it.
