This would be a great setup for somebody new to the hobby or for a 2nd tank at a cheap cost. Would take some of the equipment to the sale but will be going to mardi gras instead-

Hey, I might take that 40 off your hands, but I need to find out if it will fit in the new stand being built. I know it will fit lengthwise, but it might be a little too wide.

The 40's 16 1/2 in wide by 13 in tall by 48in, actually its volume is 46.29 Gallons accoring to garf website. I am just trying to get around the ammount I put into it or less. The 40's in great shape, black is painted black. It would also make a great frag tank in a fish room bc the depth is shallow.

Hmmm, well, it might be too long then...? The stand is for a 75, and I thought the 40 might make a good sump. The only problem is once I take into account the thickness of the wood, I'm not sure if a 48" long tank would fit inside the stand.

I decided to go with a 30 long sump for my 120 and though I wish it was bigger I am really happy with it. Skimmer, fuge, return. This tank would not make the best sump but is def doable for 20$. If I had a fish room no doubt I would throw a 250 watt Mh over the center of it and grow out some stuff - I will throw in nearly anything/everyting with the 55 if I get a buyer. Its everything needed for a new reef setup except great filtration. I also have an automatic feeder, fish net, 10 gallon sump, and alot of other extras.

Update?? how much of this do you still have? I'm new to this and plan to set up a 55 gal tank i have for salt.

Dirty they still might be availabe as the first buyer has not gotten back to me. I still have the tank and have kept the lights down. With 4 urchins and a small cleanup crew the 55 has very low to any algae "none noticable except little coraline". The tank would be great bc it has all the baserock and has been established for 2 years. It would make a good fowlr or small reef setup for the newer hobbist.
