6 gal. reef good for Mantis??

I have a 6 gallon reef that has been up since July, 10 lbs LR and 9 lbs LS. Has/is working as a home for jaw fish. Fish is being moved to a 50 g. My daughter wants to use the tank for a mantis shrimp, will that work and is it safe for the animal and my daughter?

the tank is fine for a mantis.
as long as she dosnt try to kiss it it should be safe:love1:

I think that as long as your daughter is old enough to understand that Mantis can hurt you if you touch it, it would be a safe pet. Make sure the tank has a lid so no curious fingers can get in there.

She would love feeding the mantis bits of shrimp, prawn, fish and whatnot on skewer or with chopsticks. I think it would be a really cool pet to have for a kid.. definitely something unusual and fascinating!
