6 Line Wrassse vs Mantis

I was just reading and saw a lil blurb that a 6 Line would be good to keep certain things in check, Mantis Shrimp being one of them.

Has anyone heard of this or witnessed it? Anyone kept the 2 together?

What kinda skinny Mantis would put up with a 6 Line woopin up on it? jeeze. Ok the mini ones, but once you get to Smithii and bigger.... right?

Theres some one on here that keeps them together. The 6 line is actualy allowed in its burrow.

yeah my current mantis, a Chiragra could care less about my Damsel sleepin in its caves. 6 Lines actually seem very cool, but I just laughed when I heard they would keep down the mantoids! but I understand if its just meaning the tinies.

One I would like to try as well, is a jaw fish.... I wanna see one pop out and spit a rock at the mantis and see how he would react... bwahah

I tried a six-line with my peacock. Peacock ate the six-line within 24 hours.

I can't imagine a six-line eating any mantis much bigger than a small Haptosquilla. I would think anything over an inch would be too big.

LOL, go Peacock! Yeah... I make sure my tanks are always fish first, Mantis second - but the Mantis is always first in my heart!... cept this new timid Chiragra, ugggh.

I have a six line and a mantis in my 55. The mantis is bigger than the 6 line and no problems. I have no idea what kind of mantis it is. He came hitching a ride in some rock I got from a friend. He's cool but I'm in the process of trying to catch him. Not wanted in my reef.

My Smithii has been living with a Six Line Wrasse in a 30gal cube for over a year now. It's never been an issue.

I have a six line in my 37 with my big peacock. No way the wrasse messes with him. The wrasse swims in and out of the burrow without so much as a reaction from the mantis. When I feed the wrasse even swims right in front of him and nothing happens. I think some of the larger wrasses would take out a small mantis but a six line doesn't pose much threat to a mantis bigger than a amphipod.

I have my Mantis living with a clown , green chromis and algae blenny... No issues at all.. They actually watch the Mantis kill all my snails... Pretty cool

FL, what they are doing is catching scraps!!! I noticed that my mantis hid more with a nosey fish like a 6line...

A 6-line could eat the eyes of the mantis though. I had a damsel that was constantly pecking at my O. havanensis's eyes when it was out of its den. From now an if there is going to be a fish in my mantis tanks it will be a fire fish.
