6055 or stream 2

Currently I am running 3 6025's on my 90 with couple of modded maxi jets. I am thinking of getting some 2 6055's since they are controllable and then taking the maxijets and 1 of the 6025's out. I saw that now there are some new things coming out as far as the stream 2. What is the difference between those and the controllable 6055? Should I wait for the new ones?

The stream two is just a different design of the original Streams. They are considerably bigger than the nano streams, so if size is an issue then you may want to stick with the 6055's.

The Stream 2's are roughly the size of softball. If you plan on a heavy SPS tank the Stream 2's may be the way to go, but 2 6055's should be fine for a mixed reef with few SPS.

for a 90 gallon should 2 6055s be enough or do you think I might need one in the center? I have a 7095 multi controller.

If doing a mix of things and have a cornerflo tank like an all glass I might consider 2 x 6055 one on each side, then the side without the return add one of the 6025s or another 6055. The side with the 6055 by itself would be supplemented by the tank return.
