9 gallon nano?

I have a 9 gallon Eheim aquastyle tank, that is a Red Cherry shrimp FW tank at the moment.

I'm wondering about making it a small saltwater tank with some corals, live rock of course, and possibly a fish, but maybe just a crab or two.

What do I need to do this? A small powerhead I know, but what type of filter would work for this tank? The one it comes with is very small, so I'm not sure about that.

If I had lots of live rock, could I get away with no filter? I'd love that

I think a filter is a must both for me mechanical filtration (sponge you can rinse off) and chemical (Purigen, carbon,...) the bigger the better

I have an aqua clear for my 10 gallon and I love it, it seems to be working great so far
