A big ol' fluidized carbon reactor

Just sent this to a buddy. Body is 6 x 6 x 24"H. Plumbing is 1/2".
Played with gluing the bottom angle rather than bending it. I used a 45degree router bit then glued it up. Pretty tricky, but good for honing those acrylic skills:) The bottom is 1/2" thick material to take the wear from the gritty carbon.
Sorry for the crappy pics.

Sure, over time, but you'd change it by then.
This is also good for any fluidized application- bio, phosphate removers, etc.

I was kind of curious as well about the O-square :) Also the inlet pipe goes through the V in the bottom plate correct?

Real simple:) I rabbeted a groove around the opening and siliconed in some 1/4" O-ring stock with DC795. Works like a champ.

I built it for easttn, who said it worked great. I think he sold it along with all his stuff and its still running today.

The pipe on the bottom is perforated to spread the flow. Once it hits the Vee, all the media fluidizes at that point.
HTH,
Chris
