Over the past week, I've noticed many new small creatures, and wanted a few IDs. I don't have any pics right now but I can try getting some tomorrow.
1. The first thing I've noticed was a small shrimp. They are less than a cm long, and look just like a typical cleaner shrimp or similar species. I only see the at night, and they seem to be attracted the light. After seeing some, I noticed more in the bucket I put a new frag in, and was sure to get them into the tank as well.
2. The second critter I've noticed is a very interesting amphipod like critter. It built a tube out of the sand just like one of those tiny worms that builds tubes and pokes out those to long stringy tentacles. It built the tunnel right against the glass, so I could actually see into it. Its body was mostly clear, but had a maple brown color on its back. I think it might have been a predator, because a small pod on the glass got close to its tunnel and the mystery craeture seemed to pounce at it, but missed. I noticed today that the burrow is gone.
3. The third is more of just a question. Can stomatella snails be black? Because I think I may have a jet black one in my tank
Sorry for the long post, and thanks for any and all help in advance.
