a few quick random questions

1.) is it normal to be able to shift a derasas shell a slight bit when its closed?
2.)i have derasa,crocea,blue maxima, squamosa,and hippo. does anyone have every clam in the hobby?
3.) im setting up a 35g with nothing but clams and sps. with this new tank will come a few more new clams. other then a qt tank (dont have room anywhere for one) how can i insure pm wont be bought into my tank by any new clams.

1) you shouldn't really be trying
2) not me, but close
3) qt would be the first suggestion, if not, then very close examination of the clam before putting it in the tank, don't be afraid to remove it from the water for a little bit while you examine it

oops, for some reason though you meant pyramid snails, pm you should just keep a close eye out for if you don't have a qt, although you should definitely look into a small one

I would suggest getting a 6 line wrasse ( or 4 line or 8 line). They can do a lot of preventative maintenance for clam parasites.

How much room does a small quarantine tank take? You don't have to have one set up all the time. Keep your bio-media in your display tank (sump if you have one) and when you need to set it up, you can do it with 15 minutes.
