A tilting Crocea

I have had my Crocea for a while now and he looks really healthy, But the crocea acts a bit funny at times. I place him high on the rocks becasue I know they like alot of light, I have 1 175 watt MH and 2 60 watt actinics. Now when I place him high on the rocks, 12 inches from the light, he walks down to sit on the aragonite substrate, and likes it there so I leave him there. Recently though he tilts himself lower and lies flat on the substrate, I flip him upright and the next day back on his side!
My water is dead on with calcium at 450 mg/l and pH at 8.2. However, my alkalinity drops to 7 DKH periodically, don`t ask why it likes to hover there.
Anyone have this happen? Anyone know the reason?

:) I have 8 clams and have been keeping various types of Tridacnids for nearly 4 years. For lack of a better word, they each seem to have their own "personalities." It is seeking the best position from its point of view.

Yes, I've got a few that just refuse to stand up and present themselves for my optimal viewing pleasure! You might try placing a small flat rock or clam shell under the sand where your Crocea is though. They are generally much happier when they have something to attach to.

Thanks, I will give that a go. I`ve placed him on the substrate and close to a rock then placed another rock close to the other side of the shell. I know that they like to wedge themselves in rocks. However he just pushes it out of the way and tilts; but hey he is his own person.
