Another Brick in the Wall

About a year ago, I thought I saw a Mantis Shrimp in my tank. It was at night when I was looking things over with a flashlight. However, I was never able to get a good look at it, as when the light hit it, it was gone. This happened a couple of times but never saw it since.

Then, every once in a while, my sand would be plowed near a area between two pieces of live rock. However, this has not happened for a couple of months.

Now, just the last couple of days, it seems like something is moving small pieces of live rock rubble around. In fact, it is like something is building a wall in front of an 2" opening in a piece of live rock. Yesterday, I placed a small piece of dead coral (approx 1" long by 1/4" round) about 3 inches from the area and today it is stacked on top of the pile. I do have a big bristle worm and a serpent star but don't feel they would be doing this.

Any one out there want to guess what's going on?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a mantis. They like to use coral, algea, rock, etc. to cover up holes to thier cave that they dont want people to see in. I found that mine does this when it is about to molt. That means your little guy is gettin a big bigger!!:D
