Wondering if 64W PCs will suffice till I get my MH at the end of the month, and whether or not 250w is way tomuch for a 24g Ap plan to build a hood for the pendant and have it raised a decent height.
I keep my lords in 72 watt pcs for almost a year, they did fine. Some people say they grow better under pcs. I do think 250 watt is too much on a 24 gallon.
Thanks alot for the speedy responses, the lords ill be getting next weekend so ill make sure to take some photos since i have redone all the aqua scaping in the tank, and i just found out that the light i was getting is on back order, so can any one sugest another type of lighting for lords well LPS in general because i just dont like the stock lighting anymore on the Aqua Pod
I have lords a foot under 400w 10k metal halides, no problems. Only thing I'd be worried about with that much light is heat, and you may never be able to keep lower-light corals.
ryan, my concern was less about them dying or changing color, but about their reproduction rate. I have come to believe, but have not done testing with all variable eliminated, that lords grow best under moderate light. the people I know that are growing out rare lords in frag tanks are using T5s instead of the 400 wt halides they have over their sps.
ok how about the next question Looking into getting this instead of the HQI since its on back order :1x65W Actinic 03 + 1x65W 10000K question is which is a better company coral life, or current USA
