acro crab

i'v noticed my acro crabs been moving during the night..but in the day time when the lights come on..they are back

I think they move to find better feeding areas and only move at night since they believe everything else which is bigger than them are predators and therefore would like to be unseen.

Are they reef safe? I have seen them quite a bit but have not heard any useful info on them. Do you need to have colonies of SPS as opposed to merely frags?

You will have to do a search, but most are reefsafe except for the fuzzy haired crabs that some say are the harmful ones.

Do not remove. they will control the flatworm in the acro.

thats the first time ive heard that acro crabs control flatworms. where did you hear this from? any links? im interested as ive had acro crabs in the past and have not seen them do anything more then eat what i feed to the fish.

It would make sense to me. I've seen my acro crab defend the coral against anything that comes near. He's got attitude that's for sure. I've read corals with acro crabs usually do better. Either way I love inverts and would love to have more of them but they are hard to find.
