acrylic scratches and removal

I have a kit to remove scrathes and is a micro sand paper grade
2400 thru 8000...instructions say ok to do with water and fish but
says may not be good for the fish as acrylic aprticles will contaminate the water a little......any one have any experiance with this???

I would place a garbage bag on the waters surface and maybe dry off the inside of the tank and use some tape to seal it off while you are sanding. Those particles wouldnt be good to be free floating in your tank.

are you indicating the particles will float? and would they be caught in the skimmer as the are light wieght?

I have 'sanded' out scratches with no noticable effect on the livestock.
