Actinic Lighting For my 20

Im really missing the actinic lighting I had on my 110. Do you guys think a bunch of blue LED christmas lights wired into my hood would work? If you have any other cheap alternatives, let me know.

I have an old friend who did something similar to this using christmas lights and an icecap t5 reflector. Drilled the wholes in the reflector to set the LEDs. Didn't get any real par, but it did alter the color of the tank. He just used them at night.

Its not under $20 but its a nice setup for what you looking to do in my opinion.

You can also buy blue CF bulbs that go in a standard household bulb socket. I think they're like $7 at home depot.

i have a couple 54w t-5's i'll trade for a frag or 20 bucks no reflectors but have the bulb end caps an ballast
