Adam Blundell is one of those people who belongs in his own category. Adam is part hobbyist, part environmentalist, part scientist, part author, part student, and part teacher. Adam began his involvement with marine life just like many hobbyists. He began as a child getting freshwater fish, then more freshwater fish, then lots of tanks, then many saltwater tanks, and then it became a compulsive lifestyle. That lifestyle has stayed with him as he worked as an International Research Diver, University Research Project Director, Educator, and Hobbyist.

Adam now works in Marine Ecology, and in Pathology for the University of Utah. While not in the lab he is the president of the Nation’s largest hobbyist club, the Wasatch Marine Aquarium Society (www.utahreefs.com). His newest project The Aquatic & Terrestrial Research Team is a research based group which utilizes research projects to bring together hobbyists and scientists. His vision is to see this type of collaboration lead to further advancements in aquarium husbandry. Adam has earned a BS in Marine Biology and an MS in the Natural Resource and Health fields.

Adam is also an accomplished writer having authored numerous articles for both Advanced Aquarist and Conscientious Aquarist online magazines.

Adam's topic is "What is Reef-Safe?" The meeting will begin at 6:00 PM at the Radisson Inn in Monroeville. For additional information, see http://www.pmas.org/
