Adding Live Rock

This may be a very stupid and obvious question but i am starting a new tank and i was wondering if it is at all smart to add exsiting live rock from one tank to another should i just drip acclimate my corals and live rock to the new water? Also if i am starting a new tank would it be smart to mix a few peices of cured live rock in with the tank on uncured live rock? Would that speed up the cycling process at all? What should i do?

If you add new live rock to an established aquarium you might get an ammonia spike from the die off of the new live rock. I wouldn't suggest putting it in there unless the live rock has been cured and previously established.

I do not think adding cure live rock to a tank will speed up the cycling process.
